Description

Multi-functional headwear – Snowdon, historic 1912 mapping

Northern Eye’s snoods, neck tubes or scarves use genuine UK Ordnance Survey large-scale mapping of key outdoor locations as attractive and iconic artwork.

Typical UK National Park locations include well-known mountains, lakes, islands and headlands. We also produce snoods with artwork based on historic hand-drawn and etched mapping. We call this ‘Outdoor British map art’.

Northern Eye Books are official Ordnance Survey Partners, and all our snoods carry our company logo and OS licence number.

Please note: The mapping in the artwork is not intended for navigation; users are recommended to use purpose-made/ full sheet Ordnance Survey maps instead.

Uses

These upmarket, quality neck tubes are ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities and sports, ranging from walking, hiking, dog walking, running, cycling, scrambling and climbing, to camping, caravanning, fishing, skiing, snowboarding and motorcycling. The attractive, genuine OS map artwork also makes them ideal for everyday wear.

Material

Northern Eye’s seamless tubular snoods are made from a high-quality, super stretchy, smooth, breathable mix of 95% recycled Polyester and 5% Elastane. The silky material is a hypoallergenic, non-chafing, technical microfibre. The snoods are comfortable to wear all year round, too: warm in winter and cool in summer.

The fabric is durable and colourfast. Wash at low temperatures only. Not suitable for ironing.

Size

The tubular snoods are a standard 50cm x 25cm. As they are made of a handy, elastic material, it means one size fits almost everyone. Which makes them the perfect choice for both men and women with a head circumference of 48-60cm.

Sun protection

The snood’s tight weave helps protect wearers from sun exposure and skin damage. With a SPF of 50+, the silky-smooth material blocks over 95% of the sun’s rays. What’s more, depending on how the snood is worn, it can protect the head, face, neck and ears.

Wind- and dustproof

The tightly woven neck tube is windproof, dustproof and sandproof, warm in winter and cool in summer.

Moisture-wicking

The neck gaiters, neck tubes or snoods are moisture wicking, meaning they quickly draw sweat and dampness away from your skin, keeping you dry, non-sticky, and comfortable even in poor conditions.

Ultralight and packable

The neck tubes are made of a durable, washable and colour-fast material that weighs just 140 grammes per square metre. Which means the snoods are both lightweight and packable and will fit easily into a pocket or bag when not being worn.

Ways to wear

This good-looking multi-functional headwear is extremely versatile and can be worn in many different ways. Functional uses include neck warmer, bandana, snood, scarf, face mask, dust mask, headband, sweatband, wristband, beanie, headwrap, hair tie, yoga band, pirate cap and balaclava – or even a dog scarf or bandana.
